As of March 13, there have been 19 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 illness in North Carolina (eight cases in Wake County). It is spreading rapidly in our community and around the world, and the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared COVID-19 a pandemic.
In keeping with the recommendations of the North Carolina Governor’s Office to avoid large gatherings of more than 100 people in order to slow the spread of the virus, we have decided that it is in the best interests of our church and our community to suspend most regular services and activities at FKBC.
For at least three weeks, starting Sunday, March 15, our 11am English-language Sunday service will move to an online-only format. Only essential staff and volunteers, including pastors, praise leaders, and technical support volunteers, will be present in the church building. We encourage you to be a part of our virtual worship service through our live feed; by the morning of March 15, the link to this live feed will be posted on the front page of our website (www.livinghoperaleigh.org).
Most weekly church activities will be suspended through March 29. This includes all other Sunday services (9:30am, Youth, Childrens, 3pm), AWANA, all Wednesday and Friday night services, and Tuesday morning women’s Bible study.
All events related to our Senior Pastor Search have been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.
The church building will be open for daily prayer meetings, Mon-Sat 6-7am and Mon-Fri 6-8pm.
Small groups are still welcome to meet together, at their discretion. We ask that you not meet in our church building. Please contact your small group leader for more information.
This suspension of activities will last through at least Sunday, March 29. While we hope that church services can resume after that date, this situation is constantly changing and we understand that we may need to change our plans. Please check our website (www.livinghoperaleigh.org) and our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/LivingHopeRaleigh/) for the most up-to-date information.
Even though we will not be meeting in our building, our church still has financial obligations, and we will likely face financial challenges in the coming days. You may continue to give your tithes and offerings online at http://bit.ly/FKBC-EMgive (no PayPal account is required).
Pastor Jacob will be soon be posting a personal message of encouragement on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/LivingHopeRaleigh/
God’s people are called to pray in any circumstance, great or small. So please join us in prayer:
- Pray for those infected with the COVID-19 virus to recover quickly.
- Pray for peace and comfort for those who are feeling overwhelmed.
- Pray for the financial impact on businesses and individuals.
- Pray for government officials who need to make important decisions.
- Pray for medical staff who are on the front lines.
Let’s thank God for the many blessings that He has already given us, and move forward together in prayer for God’s mercy over us and the world.
